Mirror less camera's, wow have they come a long way in a very short period of time! Not only do they offer many of the same capabilities of there DSLR counterparts, such as high speed burst mode's, APC, and Full frame sensor options, some of those options include cameras by Sony, Nikon, Fuji, etc . Today I'm going to talk about the Nikon 1 system. The Nikon 1 V2 camera that I shoot with has some great qualities. But up to now, not many options in long lens designed right for the camera. Granted with the Nikon F1 adapter made by nikon for the camera, you could connect many of your nikon F mount lens to it,and use them with a few limitations. And will talk more about that in the future. In the accompanying photo's you will see some images taken with this camera, and a game changing lens for it as well. The Nikon CX 70-300mm zoom.
I tried to take a mixture of photo's in poor lighting, outdoor, etc to give you an idea what you can accomplish with this lens. With this whole outfit being a fraction of the weight of say my D4 with a 70-200mm lens attached, will find you loving hand holding this outfit in the field for action shots. High burst rates on both the V2, and V3 cameras will help with that as well. Their is great info at Nikon Rumors web site about these two fine cameras, you can check it out here: http://nikonrumors.com/2014/03/14/nikon-1-v3-vs-v2-specifications-comparison.aspx/
Autofocus Speed and Accuracy
In almost all situations the focusing is very fast and accurate, especially in good lighting. There can be some minor focus hunting in poor lighting conditions, but nothing outside the scope of what you'd expect in this conditions.
Next time, we'll get a little more into my impressions of the lens performance. Till next time Happy clicking!
