I had the pleasure of this last Wednesday, of going on a photo shoot with friend, and great photographer Scott Engel at the Milwaukee County Zoo. Our subject for the four-hour shoot would be the nearly 6-month-old jaguar cubs who were sired by Pat the cat, and Stella. The significant's is that this was her first foray outside. During our time of watching and taking photos of them, it was interesting to see the progression from very hesitant to move outside the confines of the door, to romping around the yard and play at stalking one another. It was also very cool to see how well Stella their mother engage them to get them comfortable with their surroundings.
Another significant aspect of the whole situation is that Pat the cat was a wild jaguar captured in Belize. Which is a great addition of bringing new gene pool into the zoo situations. Thanks to Scott again, alway a great way to spend the day!
